Ancient Egypt. Late Period, c. 664-535 BC. Large torso from an Egyptian faience ushabti, a burial figure left in the tomb of the dead to serve as a servant in the afterlife. Depicted mummiform, wearing tripartite wig with seshed headband, arms folded at chest, holding crook and flail. Great green color with black details. Excellent facial detail.
