Ancient Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, c. 664-535 BC. Exceptional blue-green faience ushabti, burial figure, servant to the deceased in the afterlife. Depicted mummiform, with arms crossed, holding pick and hoe, seed bag over shoulder. A vertical register of incredibly sharp hieroglyphic inscriptions from the Book of the Dead down the front. Intact, with no restoration or repair. Very rare in this superb condition. H: 5.125”, with acrylic base (entire piece stands 6” tall). A very impressive display-piece!
