The Carnot Riviera takes its name from the famous French Riviera - the unbelievably gorgeous stretch of Mediterranean coastline in Southeast France. What started as a health resort for the upper class in the 19th century quickly became the playground and vacation spot of aristocrats. Later, artists and writers blended into the mix, creating a bohemian, atmospheric, and highly-desired destination spot.

This vibrant and varied history inspired Carnot to design a watch that looks as though it belongs there; luxuriously detailed and beautiful, but still simple, artistic, and accessible. From a black tie dinner to a casual lunch with friends or a boating trip, the Riviera is a an adaptable, steadfast companion anywhere you go, or with anything you wear.

On the back of the watch, you'll find a map of the Mediterranean coastline of Southern France, featuring destination towns from St-Tropez to Monaco, and the mix of brushed and polished surfaces makes for a beautiful play of light on the gentle curves of the case.

The diamond-cut hands add depth to the dial and increase legibility in all lighting environments, while the hand-applied indices, the recessed sub-dials, and the guilloché texture add subtle aesthetic elevation.

What kind of Is the battery does the watch take? Can it be easy changed, or does it require it to be sent out?

The Carnot Riviera uses a 371 (also known as SR920SW) battery. To replace it, 6 screws need to be taken out of the case back. If you have a small precision screwdriver, it can be done easily. The movement is Swiss.

Is this a men or women's watch?

At 40mm diameter, it is considered unisex. It’s a great size for both men and women.

What color is the band?

The leather band is maroon.
