The Buoncristiani brothers are bonded not only by blood, but also by a shared passion, vision, and dedication for handcrafting ultra-premium wines that accentuate the enjoyment of life. Matt, Jay, Aaron, and Nate were born and raised in the Napa Valley from a long lineage of Italian winemakers and wine lovers. They take pride in performing all aspects of enology, viticulture, wine production, and art design to share a true expression of winemaking passion. Handcrafting these limited production wines themselves allows for the utmost attention to detail in every drop of every gallon in every barrel.
The Buoncristiani O.P.C. is their Napa Valley proprietary red blend. In the quest to create a wine uniquely theirs, they discovered the synergy of marrying Napa Cabernet Sauvignon with Syrah, while also folding in further complexity of texture and flavor with Napa Malbec and Merlot blenders. Grapes are sourced from some of Napa’s most prestigious vineyards including Hyde, Stagecoach, Hossfeld and Bennett. Just like their winemaking fathers before them, the Buoncristiani brothers continue the family tradition of handcrafting blends that help accentuate the enjoyment of life.
To ensure our highest standard of quality, the vineyards are managed by growers who adhere to their strict viticultural philosophy and the wines are crafted with their own hands. The components of O.P.C. were harvested and fermented separately in small batches, then carefully blended in several phases during the second year of barrel aging. This 2015 O.P.C. was aged in French oak barrels for 20 months and bottled in June of 2017.
This 2015 Buoncristiani O.P.C. Napa Valley Proprietary Red was awarded 93 Points by Robert Parker, Jr, who said: "Composed of 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Syrah, 20% Malbec and 14% Merlot, the 2015 Proprietary Red Blend O.P.C. displays a deep garnet-purple color and nose of black cherry compote, blackberry pie and wild blueberries with hints of violets, chocolate box and anise. Full-bodied and voluptuously fruited in the mouth, it has soft, rounded tannins and great expression, finishing long and spicy."
