Product Description

From the Musashi Silver Collection Shirakawa Series comes this intricately hand crafted “Lotus” Katana. Hand-forged from 1060 high carbon steel using the Maru-kitae technique, this razor-sharp blade is beautiful, resilient, and finished with a unique hamon pattern. The detailed Mokko Gata style iron tsuba depicts the lotus plant, which is known for its ability to rise even from the most dirt or murky waters still blooming into a pure beautiful flower. This process symbolizes enlightenment in Japanese culture. The wood handle is real ray skin wrapped in traditional black cotton cord, while the high gloss saya makes the Lotus katana a great addition to your collection.

A unique feature is the integrated Bo-Hi on the blade. Bo-Hi is commonly known as a "blood groove," but that is a misconception. The purpose of the Bo-Hi is to help reduce the weight of the blade so it is easier to wield and puts less stress on the hands. It also helps with some advance cutting techniques that require the katana to change direction rapidly.

Included with this katana is a sword bag and certificate of authenticity. Each sword is individually numbered on the tang.
