Please Note: Bacon leaves the warehouse frozen, wrapped in insulation with freezer packs, and may arrive thawed. This is completely normal, rest assured it was very cold most of the trip and can tolerate thawing in transit. The Baconer recommends refrigerating upon arrival. You can even refreeze without any damage to quality.

Curing is a salt based process of preserving meats that not only prevents spoilage, but also imparts certain delicious flavors characteristic of bacon and other charcuterie. Most bacon is cured with synthetic nitrates, nitrites and/or phosphates, however our uncured is bacon is preserved with 100% natural ingredients derived from sea salt and celery, which is rich in natural nitrates.
How are the pigs raised? What specific diet do they eat?Our heritage breed Duroc pork comes from Iowa family farms, sustainably
raised without antibiotics, hormones, or growth promotants of any kind. All
animals are fed a 100% vegetarian diet and are raised in a crate-free
environment without the use of gestation or farrowing crates.
